On the morning of June 20, 2025, PowerChina and Pakistan Central Power Company Limited (CPGCL) officially signed an operation and maintenance service contract for the 747 MW combined cycle power plant in Gudu, the capital of Islamabad. More than 40 people, including Yang Guangyuan, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Energy of Pakistan, Junaid Ahmed Baig, CEO of CPGCL, Xu Deheng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Company, and Xing Yanfu, Deputy General Manager, attended the signing ceremony online and offline.

Pakistan's Gudu Power Plant is strategically located at the junction of Sindh and Punjab provinces. The project adopts the operation and maintenance general contracting model, and the contract period is up to 12 agreement years, which can be extended according to actual needs. PowerChina will be fully responsible for the whole process of power plant operation, daily maintenance and other services, with a comprehensive and refined operation and maintenance plan to ensure the efficient and stable operation of the power plant, and inject strong impetus into Pakistan's power supply.

This is another large-scale power plant operation and maintenance project obtained by PowerChina in Pakistan, and it is also the second long-term turnkey operation and maintenance service project of overseas gas-fired combined cycle power station obtained by Hubei Engineering Company since the ten-year operation and maintenance contract of Nandip, and the third operation and maintenance project of Hubei Engineering Company in Pakistan, demonstrating the professional ability and brand influence of Hubei Engineering Company in the operation and maintenance service industry.
