On July 1st, Indian Steel Minister H.D. Kumar Swami held talks with Chief Saud bin Saker Al Qasimi of the United Arab Emirates, focusing on long-term cooperation in the supply of low silica limestone and green steel. The meeting took place during the opening ceremony of the Dubai offices of India National Mineral Development Corporation and Merken Limited, attended by Minister Kumalaswamy.

Multi field cooperation promotes industrial upgrading

Both sides had in-depth discussions on cooperation directions such as the application of green hydrogen energy, value-added steel trade, and the construction of calcined lime production facilities. Minister Cumaraswamy emphasized that the mineral resources and clean energy advantages of the Rashima Emirate are highly complementary to India's steel demand in infrastructure construction, energy components, and other fields, making it an ideal strategic partner for cooperation.

Indian companies accelerate their internationalization layout

The Dubai office of National Mineral Development Corporation of India will focus on the acquisition of mineral assets and the establishment of strategic joint ventures to achieve diversified supply of key minerals such as steel grade limestone and dolomite. Meiken Limited's Dubai business focuses on professional services such as industrial project execution, green steel consulting, and digital twin technology applications.

Building a new low-carbon industrial ecosystem together

The meeting reached a consensus that both sides will fully leverage their respective advantages in mineral resources, industrial technology, and clean energy to jointly promote the development of the green steel industry and contribute to the global low-carbon transformation. This cooperation will effectively promote deep collaboration between the two countries in areas such as industrial manufacturing and energy transformation.
