On July 25, 2025, Inner Mongolia Hangchu Technology Co., Ltd. officially released the bidding announcement for the EPC general contracting of the 100000 kW/600000 kWh grid side independent energy storage demonstration project. The project is located in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with a total investment scale of 800 million yuan. It is constructed using self raised funds by the enterprise, equivalent to a unit cost of 1.33 yuan/watt hour.
According to the requirements of the bidding documents, this tender accepts consortium bidding, but the number of consortium members shall not exceed 2, and a design unit with corresponding qualifications must serve as the leading party. Bidders must meet the key performance criteria: having at least one EPC general contracting performance for energy storage projects with a scale of 100 megawatt hours or above since 2021.
The project is scheduled to officially start construction before August 30, 2023, and is required to achieve full capacity grid connection and production before December 31, 2025. The construction of this demonstration project will effectively enhance the peak shaving capacity of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region's power grid, promote the consumption of new energy, and is of great significance for promoting the development of China's new energy storage industry.

The scope of this bidding includes but is not limited to: EPC general contracting work for the entire process of project survey and design, equipment and material procurement, engineering construction, system debugging, and grid connection acceptance. After completion, the project will become an important grid side energy storage facility in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, providing strong support for the high-quality development of local new energy.
Industry insiders point out that the cost level of 1.33 yuan/watt hour has strong competitiveness in the current energy storage market, reflecting the increasingly mature energy storage industry chain in China. The implementation of this project will accumulate valuable experience for the construction of China's new power system and provide important references for the development of large-scale energy storage projects in the future.
