On August 10, China Steel Equipment Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sinosteel International, officially signed a contract with Saudi ArcelorMittal Jubail Pipe Company (AMTPJ) to undertake the construction of a seamless steel pipe heat treatment line with an annual output of 200,000 tons and a finishing line of 150,000 tons. The landing of this major project marks the deep integration of China's high-end equipment manufacturing technology into Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030" strategy and sets a new benchmark for China-Saudi Arabia production capacity cooperation.

The project adopts the EPC general contracting model, and Sinosteel Equipment is responsible for the whole process from design to commissioning. The production line will produce high-end seamless steel pipes with a pipe diameter of 114.3-406.4 mm, mainly serving the oil and gas, shipbuilding and offshore engineering fields in the Middle East and North Africa region. After the completion of the project, it will significantly improve AMTPJ's production capacity and market competitiveness, and help Saudi Arabia achieve import substorion of industrial products.

As a joint venture between the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) and global steel giant ArcelorMittal, AMTPJ is an important pillar of Saudi Arabia's industrial upgrading. This cooperation is another major project between the two parties after the 6 million tons/year pipe production line, fully demonstrating the technical strength of Chinese enterprises in the field of metallurgical engineering. Sinosteel Equipment will introduce international leading heat treatment technology to ensure that the production line reaches the world's first-class level in terms of precision, automation and energy efficiency.

Industry experts pointed out that the project is exactly in line with the industrial transformation needs of Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030". With the advancement of Saudi Aramco's oil and gas development, Red Sea tourism projects and NEOM New City construction, the market demand for high-end seamless steel pipes continues to grow. It is predicted that the seamless steel pipe market in the Middle East will grow at an average annual rate of 4.5% from 2025 to 2030.

In recent years, Sinosteel International has repeatedly won major projects in countries along the Belt and Road, including the 1800mm hot continuous rolling project in Turkey and the 4 million ton pelletizing project in Algeria. The successful signing of the Saudi project has further consolidated the leading position of Chinese enterprises in the global metallurgical engineering market and injected new impetus into deepening China-Saudi Arabia production capacity cooperation.(This article is from the official website of Jiandao www.seetao.com it must not be reprinted without permission, otherwise it will be investigated, please indicate the reprint of Jiandao.com + original link) See the Middle East column editor/Gao Xue
