Swedish construction company NCC has signed a contract worth 200 million Swedish kronor (approximately $20 million) with energy company Uniper to jointly promote the expansion project of the B å lforsen hydroelectric power station in L ü kseler, Sweden. The main content of the project includes installing new turbine units to enhance the power generation capacity and operational efficiency of the power station.

Uniper Ume ä lven expansion project manager Jonny Arhag stated that the project is fully aligned with the company's strategic goal of expanding flexible green energy supply. NCC has been carrying out preliminary preparations at the power station since the end of 2024. At this stage, it will focus on the installation of new turbines and upgrading existing equipment, aiming to optimize river flow, improve power generation efficiency, and enhance system service capabilities.

Andr é Persson, Regional Manager of NCC Infrastructure, stated that with NCC's rich experience in complex infrastructure projects and local resource advantages, Uniper will be supported in achieving its power plant expansion goals. The expansion project of the hydropower station is planned to be completed by the end of 2027, and the contract amount will be included in NCC's infrastructure business revenue in the third quarter of 2025.
