On August 24, 2025, the People's Government of Urad Middle Banner, Inner Mongolia officially announced the competitive selection of investment and development entities for new independent energy storage projects in 2025. According to the announcement requirements, the construction scale of a single independent energy storage power station for this selected project shall not be less than 100MW/400MWh, and the total scale of the entire project shall not exceed 700MW/2800MWh. The project will focus on peak shaving of new energy stations, improving the utilization rate of new energy power generation, and alleviating the pressure of regional power grid peak shaving. Priority will be given to supporting the adoption of advanced energy storage technologies with high safety, high efficiency, and long lifespan.

The project strictly adheres to the core constraint of grid access conditions, requiring that the power quality fully comply with the national standard GB/T 36547-2024, and in principle, priority is given to accessing the 220kV level grid. The development entity needs to independently implement the access conditions and prepare a scientifically feasible access system plan. The project explicitly encourages new independent energy storage power stations to independently participate in the power auxiliary service market and achieve operational revenue through market-oriented pricing.
