Recently, energy storage projects in multiple locations, including Jungar in Inner Mongolia, Luojiang in Sichuan, Yancheng in Jiangsu, and Heze in Shandong, have seen new progress, covering various technology routes such as lithium-ion, sodium-ion, vanadium flow, and solid-state batteries, with a total investment scale exceeding 26.4 billion yuan. The advancement of these projects signifies that China's new energy storage industry is accelerating towards a new stage of scaled and diversified development. On September 2nd, the Zhungeer Banner People's Government of Inner Mongolia, the Zhungeer Economic Development Zone, and Inner Mongolia Xin Jing New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. jointly signed an investment cooperation agreement for the sodium-ion battery and energy storage industrial park project.

The project has a planned total investment of approximately 20 billion yuan and will be implemented in two phases: the first phase plans to invest 5 billion yuan to build a 10GWh sodium-ion battery production capacity; the second phase plans to invest 15 billion yuan to expand production to 40GWh. Xin Jing New Energy was established in October 2024 and is jointly held by Beijing Zhengxin Rongtong Investment Co., Ltd. and Beijing Vision Benefit People Environmental Technology Co., Ltd.On August 25th, Safe迅 (Deyang) Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. and Sichuan Anxun Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. officially signed a contract with Sichuan Luojiang Economic Development Zone for a new energy storage system manufacturing project with a total investment of 150 million yuan. The project will adopt intelligent production line design and sustainable manufacturing standards, and will be implemented in two phases. The first phase is expected to be completed and put into operation in August 2026. Safe迅 is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shenzhen Shengton Group, focusing on the research and development and manufacturing of energy storage systems, and its products have been exported to Africa and other regions.

The first phase of Exxon's 10GWh energy storage battery project in Yancheng, Jiangsu is being accelerated. As of September 1st, the main structures of individual buildings such as the comprehensive building, finished product warehouse, and raw material warehouse have been capped. The foundation construction of the battery cell workshop has been completed, and the main steel structure installation progress has reached 20%. This project, invested in by Exxon New Energy with 3.07 billion yuan, plans to build approximately 100,000 square meters of new factory buildings. Once fully completed, it can achieve an annual production capacity of 10GWh of large-capacity energy storage batteries and system integration. Exxon New Energy currently has four major production bases in Mianyang, Zhuhai, Dali, and Yancheng, with a total planned capacity of 74GWh.In addition, the 5GWh vanadium flow and solid-state dedicated battery cell project invested in by Haixi Communication has completed its main construction and is currently undergoing drainage facility construction, and is about to enter the equipment installation phase. The project has a total investment of 3.2 billion yuan and plans to build 2 vanadium flow battery cell production lines, 1 GW-level solid-state battery demonstration line, and 4 immersion energy storage system production lines. Upon reaching full production capacity, it can achieve an annual production capacity of 5GWh of energy storage dedicated battery cells and 3,000 sets of module packs and system equipment.
