500MWh, Tianhe Energy Storage signs major deal for Japanese energy storage system

Recently, Tianhe Energy Storage announced that it has officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement (MOU) with Japan's Yuasa Trading Co., Ltd. for large-scale energy storage business. According to the agreement, Tianhe Energy Storage will supply a total of 500MWh of large-scale energy storage systems to the Japanese market starting from 2025.

Since September, Trina Solar has secured multiple energy storage orders with a total scale of nearly 5GWh. On September 9th, CNOOC Energy Development Co., Ltd. officially announced the winning candidate for the "CNOOC Development Clean Energy Company Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery Energy Storage System Material Procurement Exclusive Agreement", and Tianhe Energy Storage won the bid for the project.

Recently, Tianhe Energy Storage signed energy storage product sales contracts with three customers in China, Latin America, and Asia Pacific, with a total scale of 2.48GWh.

The 500 MW/2000 MWh battery energy storage solution project developed by Trina Solar has been rapidly approved by the Victorian Labor Party government's "Development Promotion Plan" and is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.

In the latest investor relations activity record, Trina Solar disclosed that its energy storage business has cumulatively shipped over 12GWh.

By 2025, Tianhe Solar's energy storage business aims to ship over 8GWh, with an expected overseas share of 60% and a domestic share of approximately 40%. At present, there are over 10 GWh of signed overseas orders, which will be delivered between 2025 and 2026.Editor/Bian Wenjun
