Recently, Etihad Railway Company of the United Arab Emirates officially launched the first stage design and construction bidding for the Abu Dhabi Dubai high-speed railway project, attracting a consortium of contractors from China, Türkiye, India, Europe and other countries to participate in the bidding.
The consortium participating in the competition includes: Limak/Dogus/Ozkar consortium in Türkiye; A consortium consisting of NPC, Trojan Tunneling, Kalyon, and Chinese state-owned enterprises; Italian WeBuild and UAE Tristar collaboration team; A consortium of Indian L&T and companies such as China Harbour. In addition, China Railway Construction Corporation and China Civil Engineering Corporation also participated in bidding for different road sections.

The first phase of the project is 150 kilometers long, connecting Al Zahiyah in Abu Dhabi and Al Jaddaf in Dubai, with 5 stations, and is planned to be opened to traffic by 2030. At that time, the travel time between the two places will be shortened to 30 minutes. The train is designed for a speed of 350 kilometers per hour and operates at a speed of 320 kilometers per hour.
The project will continue to construct the Abu Dhabi intercity rail network, the Abu Dhabi Ain high-speed rail, and the Dubai Sharjah intercity line in stages.
This high-speed rail project is regarded as an important milestone in the development of transportation in the UAE, which will not only promote the deep integration of the two economic centers, but also become a stage for global engineering companies to showcase their strength. The project aligns with the UAE's sustainable development strategy and will be interconnected with public transportation networks such as subways and light rails in the future. Editor/Yang Beihua
