On November 24, 2025, Indian infrastructure company PVV Infra announced the official signing of a memorandum of cooperation with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board to build a 1GW TOPCon solar cell production line in the southern region of Visakhapat, Andhra Pradesh. The total investment of this project is 73.4 million US dollars, covering an area of 30 acres, and is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2026. This significant investment marks an important step forward for local Indian companies in the field of efficient solar cell manufacturing, and will also inject new impetus into the development of India's renewable energy industry.

Significant project planning and employment driving effects

According to the official statement released by PVV Infra on the Mumbai Stock Exchange, the manufacturing base will be located in the Visakhapatnam area of Andhra Pradesh, the industrial hub of the Bay of Bengal port, taking into account the well-developed industrial infrastructure and convenient logistics conditions in the area. After the completion of the project, it is expected to directly create 350 job opportunities and add 450 indirect job opportunities in related fields such as supply chain, logistics transportation, and supporting services, driving a total of 800 job opportunities. This investment plan not only reflects the company's confidence in the development of renewable energy, but also injects new vitality into local economic development and social employment, and has a positive significance in promoting balanced regional economic development.

Enterprise strategic transformation and diversified layout

PVV Infra was originally mainly engaged in construction and civil engineering business. In recent years, it has actively expanded into the renewable energy field through its subsidiary system and implemented a diversified development strategy. It is reported that PVV EVTech, a subsidiary of the company, signed a 25 year power purchase agreement for a 100MW photovoltaic project with the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Authority last month, marking the company's official entry into the field of photovoltaic power plant operation. At the same time, another subsidiary PVV Housing has also obtained the design, procurement, and construction general contracting contract for a 109MW solar project in the same area of Uttar Pradesh, demonstrating the company's professional strength in the field of photovoltaic engineering. This series of strategic measures clearly demonstrates that the company is actively promoting business transformation and committed to building a full industry chain layout from equipment manufacturing to project development.

Technological route advantages and market development prospects

This project adopts the advanced TOPCon technology route in the current photovoltaic industry, which is highly favored by the market for its high conversion efficiency, good temperature coefficient, and excellent low light performance. Against the backdrop of accelerated global energy transition and strong support from the Indian government for the development of renewable energy, the Indian solar energy market has shown tremendous potential for growth. According to industry analysts' predictions, India's solar installed capacity will maintain a rapid growth trend in the next five years, and the demand for high-efficiency solar cells will continue to rise.
