In the spring of Dalian Xizhongdao Petrochemical Industrial Park, construction vehicles shuttle incessantly, and the roar of pile drivers shakes the coast - China Petroleum's 10 million ton integrated refining and chemical project, which was built with 68.5 billion yuan, officially kicked off construction here. This land, which carries the dream of upgrading China's petrochemical industry, will rise to become a modern industrial base integrating refining, chemical industry, and new materials, injecting new momentum into the energy security and industrial development of the Bohai Rim Economic Circle and even the whole country.

Building a benchmark for integrated oil chemical materials
The project is located in the Petrochemical Industrial Park of Xizhongdao, Dalian, with a total investment of 68.5 billion yuan. It plans to construct 10 million tons/year refining and 1.4 million tons/year ethylene plants, as well as downstream chemical units such as aromatics and high-end polymers. As the largest refining project in Northeast China in recent years, it adopts the new generation of hydrocracking and catalytic cracking technologies independently developed by PetroChina, which will improve the crude oil conversion rate to the leading level in the industry. It focuses on producing clean oil products that meet the national VI standard, high-end engineering plastics and other products, achieving a breakthrough in the transformation from "fuel type" to "material type". The project is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2029, with annual sales revenue exceeding 100 billion yuan and profits and taxes exceeding 10 billion yuan.

Adhering to the "dual carbon" goal orientation, the project will integrate environmental protection concepts throughout the entire construction process. The supporting construction of sewage treatment plants, flue gas desulfurization and denitrification systems, and solid waste resource utilization centers can achieve a wastewater reuse rate of over 95%, with flue gas emissions better than international advanced standards, and unit product energy consumption reduced by more than 15% compared to the industry average level. At the same time, the project will build an intelligent production management and control platform. Through digital twin, 5G+industrial Internet and other technologies, the project will realize the visualization and precise management and control of the whole production process, and create a new model of "green, intelligent and efficient" refining industry.Editor/Bian Wenjun
