The Papua New Guinea National Grid Phase II project undertaken by TBEA has officially received the final handover certificate issued by the owner, marking the full fulfillment of all contractual obligations and the smooth handover of the project to the owner for operation.

As an important component of Papua New Guinea's national power grid system, the second phase project transferred this time is the backbone network of Ram Power Grid, one of the country's three major power grids, and also an extension and upgrade project of the first phase project. The project construction includes the construction of three new 132 kV substations in Kondiawa, Goroka, and Kenantu, the expansion of two 132 kV substations in Montehagan and Yangi, and the simultaneous construction of a 132 kV transmission and transformation line with a total length of about 270 kilometers.

After the project is put into operation, it will effectively break through the power transmission barriers between the western and eastern provinces of Papua New Guinea, achieve regional power interconnection, and improve the reliability of regional power supply by more than 70%, directly benefiting over one million people in the surrounding areas. A stable power supply will inject momentum into the development of local industries such as mining, agriculture, and commerce, helping Papua New Guinea transform its resource advantages into development advantages.

During the project construction process, TBEA has trained a group of key employees in the local area who possess professional skills such as substation operation and maintenance, power dispatching, etc. through a combination of theoretical lectures and on-site practical operations. At present, the proportion of local employees has exceeded 60%, leaving a valuable talent base for the Papua New Guinea power industry. Keywords: international, power grid
