On the 2nd, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Alaghi as scheduled.  

Alaghi reported on the latest situation in the region, stating that the United States is launching a war against Iran for the second time during the Iran US negotiations. Both sides have made positive progress in this negotiation, but the actions of the US side violate all international laws and step on Iran's red line. Iran has no choice but to fully defend itself. The Chinese side has publicly expressed a fair and just stance, hoping to continue playing a positive role in avoiding the escalation of regional tensions.  

Wang Yi reiterated China's principled stance on the current situation in Iran, stating that China cherishes the traditional friendship between China and Iran, supports Iran in safeguarding its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and national dignity, and supports Iran in safeguarding its legitimate rights and interests.  

Wang Yi stated that China has urged the United States and Israel to immediately cease military actions, avoid further escalation of tensions, and prevent the war from spreading to the entire Middle East region. I believe that Iran can maintain national and social stability, pay attention to the reasonable concerns of neighboring countries, and safeguard the safety of Chinese citizens and institutions in Iran in the current severe and complex situation. Alaghi expressed that Iran is willing to make every effort to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel and institutions.Editor/Bian Wenjun
