On March 9, 2026 local time, Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed stated that Qatar is committed to maintaining stability in the global energy market and will fully restore energy supply once the regional situation stabilizes.

Mohammed stated that the current regional conflicts not only threaten regional security, but also pose serious risks to the global energy market and supply chain. He pointed out that Qatar's suspension of liquefied natural gas production is a temporary preventive measure taken in the current situation.

Qatar Energy announced on March 2nd that it has decided to suspend the production of liquefied natural gas and related products due to drone attacks on two of its energy facilities.

Qatar has the third largest natural gas reserves in the world and is one of the most important natural gas producing countries in the world.
