On March 28, 2026, with the roar of road rollers and the buzzing of detection instruments, the G581 Kashgar Wuqia Highway officially bid farewell to roadbed construction and entered the stage of road surface improvement. This is not only a simple engineering transformation, but also a taste test for this southern Xinjiang plateau artery before the final cooking - paving the 400 meter test section, which is the final debugging for the perfect formula of the whole line.

As an important transportation support in the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt, this 53.43km long first-class highway has a design speed of 80km/h and is built according to the two-way four lane standard. Since the start of construction in July 2025, the builders have raced against time on the plateau and achieved the completion of roadbed, bridge and culvert connections in just 8 months. Its construction not only shortens the physical distance, but also compresses the spatial and temporal development of the southern Xinjiang region.
