The China ASEAN Blue Economy Cooperation Dialogue, hosted by the China Hainan Free Trade Port Research Institute, China Ocean Development Foundation, and China Academy of Foreign Affairs, was held in Haikou. Government officials, scholars, and business representatives from 19 provinces, regions, and municipalities in China, as well as the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, jointly discussed the strategic path of "rebuilding a maritime Hainan". Wang Bin, member of the Standing Committee of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the Propaganda Department, stated at the opening ceremony that Hainan is firmly anchored towards the strong goal of the sea chart and relying on the advantages of the free trade port to consolidate the foundation of blue economic development.

Four suggestions to anchor the blue economy
In his speech, Chi Fulin, President of the China (Hainan) Reform and Development Research Institute, put forward four suggestions: to build a service guarantee base for China ASEAN energy security, and to build Yangpu into a regional oil and gas storage, processing, and trading base; Building an important platform for the integration of China ASEAN blue economy industries, taking the lead in constructing the fishery industry chain and supply chain; Enhancing the strategic support for regional blue economy cooperation through the integrated development of port and ocean economy; Jointly build a customized center for maritime equipment that serves ASEAN and the world. He believes that Hainan Free Trade Port has the conditions to become a strategic platform for the China ASEAN Blue Economy Common Market.

Multi country guests discuss cooperation prospects together
Former Minister of Fisheries of Indonesia, Rokumin, pointed out that the China ASEAN partnership has become a strategic pillar for stability and sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region and even the world. Wu Ni Sankar, Economic Affairs Minister of the Embassy of Malaysia in China, believes that Hainan Free Trade Port, with its zero tariff policy, simplified customs procedures, and geographical advantages, has become an ideal gateway connecting China and ASEAN cooperation. Ban Leyi, President of the Philippine Institute of International Security Studies, suggested that Hainan can serve as a demonstration base for China ASEAN maritime connectivity and promote the promotion of this model throughout the region. Li Dongyu, Director of the Department of Ocean Affairs of Hainan Province, stated that Hainan will make every effort to build a source of deep-sea scientific and technological innovation, a gathering place for modern marine industries, and a highland for international cooperation in the ocean. Simultaneous opening of training courses on blue economy development capabilities
On the morning of that day, the Blue Economy Development Capacity Building Training Course, jointly organized by the China (Hainan) Reform and Development Research Institute and the China Ocean Development Foundation, officially opened, focusing on rebuilding a maritime Hainan and deepening the coordination and linkage of coastal provinces in the maritime field. More than 50 professionals in related fields from 8 provinces, regions, and cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Shandong, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, and Hainan participated in the training.
