In May 2026, two green power application messages ignited the energy circle. The first off grid green power direct hydrogen production project in Xinjiang has been approved, with a planned new energy installed capacity of 690000 kilowatts and an annual output of about 30000 tons of green hydrogen. The first independent energy storage demonstration project on the side of the electrochemical hydrogenation energy storage grid in Huade County, Inner Mongolia, is about to be connected to the grid, with a planned installed capacity of 100 megawatts per 400 megawatt hours. Two super projects jointly point to a proposition: green electricity is shifting from being sent out to being converted and processed on-site.

Off grid hydrogen production of 690000 kilowatts in Xinjiang
The Xinjiang project adopts a wind solar complementary and off grid independent operation mode, without relying on the public power grid, to achieve 100% green electricity self use and direct hydrogen production. Supporting 160000 kilowatts per 320000 kilowatt hours of energy storage to ensure the continuous and stable operation of hydrogen production facilities. After the completion of the project, the annual output of green hydrogen will be about 30000 tons, and the annual consumption of green electricity will be about 1.65 billion kilowatt hours, which is equivalent to saving 500000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 1.35 million tons.

Inner Mongolia Electric Hydrogen Coupling 100 MW
The total investment of the Huade County project is over 400 million yuan. The plan is to use 90 megawatts of electrochemical energy storage per 360 megawatt hours for second level frequency regulation and short-term peak valley regulation, and 10 megawatts of hydrogen energy storage per 40 megawatt hours to undertake long-term energy storage and multi energy supply tasks. The two form a complete time chain from second level response to hour level regulation to long-term energy storage. The annual discharge capacity of the project is expected to reach 100 million kilowatt hours, equivalent to saving 30000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 78000 tons. Green power direct connection changes from special to standard
