Gammon, a Hong Kong joint venture under Balfour Beatty, has won a four-year contract worth 1.27 billion pounds for the expansion of Terminal 2 of Hong Kong International Airport. According to the agreement of the Hong Kong Airport Authority, Gammon will be responsible for the expansion of the main building of Terminal 2 and the construction of interconnecting bridges, electrical and mechanical engineering, and related viaducts and roads.
The expansion of Passenger Terminal 2 is part of the Hong Kong International Airport's three-runway system project. After the completion of the project, passengers can arrive and depart from a passenger terminal at the same time, thereby increasing the overall passenger traffic.

Leo Quinn, CEO of Balfour Beatty Group, said: "This is the second important contract signed by Gammon for the Hong Kong Airport Authority this year, and it is also the largest single contract awarded to Gammon so far."
"By leveraging extensive engineering expertise and off-site and modular construction methods, Gammon has achieved a significant share of the Hong Kong market, which will continue to maintain a favorable position in terms of promising infrastructure."
Earlier in 2020, on behalf of the Hong Kong Airport Authority, Gammon won a £760 million main tunnel contract at Hong Kong International Airport to deliver tunnels and related works for the moving walk and baggage handling system.Editor/Huang Lijun
