Madagascar’s state-owned power company and water company will develop three solar power plants with a total installed capacity of 11 megawatts in Antananarivo. Antananarivo is the capital of the East African island nation in the Indian Ocean, using its colonial abbreviation. Form Tana is famous.
The construction of the above plants will be undertaken by Oursun Green Power Company Limited in Germany, which focuses on the development of energy resources. According to Jirama's requirements, these factories will have the speciality of being installed on the roof, using roof technology to optimize the surface available in the capital.
The project is scheduled to be completed within twelve months from the date of construction.
The goals of the solar project
Jirama general manager Vonjy Andrianmanga said that through the project, the company aims to improve the quality of power provided to customers, and most importantly, reduce the costs associated with power production. He confirmed: "The installation of these power plants will play a key role in improving the supply of the Internet in the capital Madagascar."
The use of renewable energy is a major part of Jirama's recycling strategy, and the city's financial resources are severely strained by the purchase of fuel from its thermal power plants.
Madagascar's solar potential
Madagascar has huge solar energy potential. Almost all regions in East African countries receive more than 2,800 hours of sunshine per year, and the daily solar radiation ranges from 1,500 kWh to 2,100 kWh/m². Photovoltaic systems are currently used to power public buildings, such as health clinics, and electrification solutions for off-grid communities. Editor/Huang Lijun
