On November 17, 2020, as the lead party of the joint venture, China Railway International signed a general contract for the construction of the "Yuen Long Water Purification Facility-Phase One Main Project" on behalf of China Railway and the Hong Kong Drainage Services Department.

The Yuen Long Water Purification Facility Project is a key project implemented by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in response to population growth and development in the Yuen Long area, improving the environment and protecting public health. The first phase of the project has increased the daily sewage treatment capacity to 100,000 cubic meters. The water purification facility in Yuen Long adopts the "Aerobic Granular Sludge" (AGS) wastewater treatment technology developed by a Dutch company, which was introduced to Hong Kong for the first time.

Since entering Hong Kong for the first time in 1999, China Railway International has taken root in the SAR, and has been deeply engaged in the market. It has successfully won the bid and implemented the construction project of MTR Tseung Kwan O Branch Tiu Jingling Station and Tsuen Wan Rainwater. More than 10 projects, including the design and construction project of the discharge tunnel, and the third phase of the reconstruction and expansion of the Shatian Sewage Treatment Plant, have achieved great success in the Hong Kong market and established a good brand image.
