Recently, Qatar’s national utility Kahramaa requested the bidding team for the planned E facility independent hydropower project in Qatar to submit alternative prices for larger capacity power generation components by February 28.

When the cogeneration project is in progress

It is reported that Kahramaa has received bids for the facility EWW project from three groups, and the Japanese company dominates the bid list. The three bidders submitted the final list of the original bid in November 2020 and have been invited to submit an alternative to the IWPP with a generating capacity of 2600MW by February 28, instead of the 2300mW power plant planned in the original tender .

In addition to the planned power generation capacity of 2,300-2,600MW, the E EWPP facility is expected to have a desalination capacity of 100 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD). In addition, Kahramaa originally appointed consultants for the project in 2017, but Qatar institutions appointed new consultants in June 2020, including PricewaterhouseCoopers (financial consultant), Clyde (legal consultant) and Energo (technology consultant).

Since the opening of the facility D IWPP in Qatar in 2018, the facility E IWPP is the first cogeneration project undertaken. The power generation capacity of the facility D plant is 2500mW, and the desalination unit is 136 MIGD. Editor/Tian Zengpeng
