Recently, the preliminary design documents of the G104 Jinglan Line Jinan Yellow River Highway Bridge Expansion Project undertaken by the Shandong Provincial Transportation Planning and Design Institute were approved by the Shandong Provincial Department of Transportation.

Jinan Yellow River Bridge Expansion Project

It is understood that the main line of the project is 7.748 kilometers long and starts about 500 meters south of the level crossing of Jihua Road and Second Ring East Road in Licheng District, Jinan City. It is extended to the north as a viaduct through the reconstruction of the existing Second Ring East Viaduct. A new bridge across the Yellow River was built 33.5 meters downstream of the Jinan Yellow River Highway Bridge on the Beijing-Lanzhou line. Finally, Jinan City’s new and old kinetic energy conversion pilot area is east of the Chen’s house at the back of the bridge, and crosses with G220.

The Jinan Yellow River Bridge expansion project integrates expressways, hub interchanges, Yellow River Bridge, municipal roads, rail transit, etc. It is a large super transportation complex project with a total estimated investment of about 7.814 billion yuan. The new bridge is parallel to the old bridge. It adopts a 488-meter main span with twin towers and double-cable plane steel truss girder cable-stayed bridge structure. The main span is the same length as the main bridge of the old bridge. The public rail is built together. The upper layer is a two-way eight-lane highway, and the lower layer It is a dual-track rail transit and will become the largest public rail bridge on the Yellow River. The project reserves the cross-river passage of rail transit line 7, and the reserved civil works covers underground sections, elevated sections, stations, etc., and a number of tasks have achieved "zero" breakthroughs.

It is reported that the zero-point interchange is planned to be demolished and newly built. It will become the first "three links" multi-functional turbine-type hub interchange in Shandong Province, which can simultaneously meet the traffic conversion needs of highways, urban expressways, and urban trunk roads.

The Jinan Yellow River Bridge expansion project is an important “one bridge” in the Jinan “three tunnels and one bridge” project.
