China Railway Construction (CRCC) announced that the first 10,000-ton heavy-duty train consists of 100 cars on the railway track from Dapiron Port to the Santo Mine in Guinea, West Africa. A train designed to transport ore pulled by two locomotives departed from Santou Mine Station on July 22. After the completion of the operation which lasted 2 hours and 22 minutes, we arrived at Dapilon Port Station.

The Dapilon-Santou railway project, covering an area of 125 kilometers in length, is located in Bokai and Gemdale in the northwest of the country. It is said that this is the first modern railway in the country. In April 2019, Weining International Group, China Win Consortium Railway Company, China Railway Eighteenth Bureau Group, China Railway Fourteenth Bureau Group signed a railway construction contract for the Dapilong-Santou Railway. China Railway Construction said in a statement: “In order to improve efficiency and optimize operation procedures, the railway operation project department is under the group’s bid-winning consortium, which pre-judges in advance, sorts out safety risk control measures, and identifies risk hazards. Develop practical and feasible train departures. Pre-plans and emergency measures to ensure the smooth operation of the train."

The successful operation of this 10,000-ton heavy-haul train on the Dapilon-Santou Railway fully reflects the management level of China Railway 21st Bureau Group in terms of operation and maintenance management. This operation is expected to enhance the single-track railway transportation capacity. Through this measure, the railway freight volume will increase from 5,000 tons to 10,000 tons.
