On August 3, 2021, the relevant responsible comrades of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (the Working Bureau of the Board of Directors) announced the decision of the SASAC Party Committee at the cadre meeting: appoint Wang Shoujun, Li Yanjiang, and Yang Aimin as external parties to the State Energy Investment Group Co., Ltd. Directors; Liu Guosheng, Tian Hui and Shi Dan no longer serve as external directors of the National Energy Investment Group Co., Ltd.

Among the three newly-appointed external directors of the National Energy Corporation, Wang Shoujun was the chairman and party secretary of China National Nuclear Corporation, and Li Yanjiang was the party secretary, member of the Standing Committee of the party committee, and chairman of China National Coal Group.
