A contract from Abu Dhabi adds another heavyweight puzzle to the overseas new energy map of Power Construction Corporation of China. On the same day, Power Construction Corporation of China officially announced that a joint venture formed by Power Construction Corporation of China Abu Dhabi Branch and East China Survey and Design Institute has successfully signed an EPC contract for the RTC solar storage project with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, with a total amount equivalent to approximately RMB 13.962 billion. In the vast desert of Mshayrif in Abu Dhabi, a clean energy revolution about sunlight and energy storage is about to begin.

2.1GW+7.75GWh Big Mac Debuts

The project is located in the Mshayrif area of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, with a total installed capacity of 2.1 GWp on the DC side of the photovoltaic section and up to 7.75 GWh on the energy storage section. This integrated solar energy storage project is at a leading level globally and will become a landmark project for clean energy infrastructure in the Middle East after completion. The project covers the design, procurement, and construction of civil engineering, photovoltaic field, and energy storage field, including the construction and structure of the booster station.

Construction sprint in the desert

According to the contract, the total project duration is 21 months after the issuance of the commencement order, and the warranty period is 24 months. This means that in less than two years, the construction team will have to complete all the tasks from design to construction in the desert hinterland of Abu Dhabi, transforming this barren land into an oasis of clean energy. Such a tight schedule places extremely high demands on project management capabilities, resource allocation efficiency, and construction organization level.
