With the growth of the global economy, infrastructure construction contractors from various countries have also "goed out to sea on board" and opened up the international market one after another. On August 18, local time, the 2021 US "Engineering News Record (ENR)" list of "the world's 250 largest international contractors" was released. The total value of new international contracts signed by the 250 listed companies in 2020 was US$520.4 billion, a decrease of 17% from 2019; the total international business volume was US$420.4 billion, a decrease of 11.1% from 2019. Among them, among the 229 companies that have been on the list for two consecutive years in 2020 and 2021, 36.7% of the companies on the list have seen an increase in their international turnover, and 63.3% have experienced a decline in their performance.

Among the Chinese mainland enterprises (hereinafter referred to as "Chinese enterprises") declared by the China International Contractors Association, a total of 78 enterprises were shortlisted for the "World's 250 Largest International Contractors" in 2021, an increase of 4 from 2020. The number of Chinese companies on the list continues to top the list. The United States ranks second with 41 companies on the list, Turkey ranks third (40), Italy ranks fourth (12), and Japan and South Korea are tied for fifth. Bits (11 companies).

From the perspective of the total international sales of the companies listed in various countries, Chinese companies will achieve an international sales of US$107.46 billion in 2020, a year-on-year decrease of 8.9%, accounting for 25.6% of the total international sales of the 250 companies on the list, an increase of 0.2 percentage points from the previous year. Spanish companies ranked second with US$62.606 billion, accounting for 14.9%; French companies ranked third with US$45.987 billion, accounting for 10.9%; German companies ranked fourth with US$33.333 billion, accounting for 7.9%; South Korean companies ranked fourth with US$33.333 billion Ranked fifth with 21.418 billion US dollars, accounting for 5.1%.

Three Chinese companies entered the top 10 list, namely China Communications Construction Group Co., Ltd. (ranked 4th, with an international turnover of 21.348 billion U.S. dollars) and China Power Construction Group Co., Ltd. (ranked 7th, with an international turnover of 13.008 billion. U.S. dollars), China State Construction Corporation (ranked 9th, with an international turnover of 10.746 billion U.S. dollars); a total of 9 Chinese companies have entered the top 50 on the list. In 2021, the average international turnover of the 78 Chinese companies on the list was US$1.378 billion, and the average international business ratio (international turnover/global turnover) was 9.6%. The average international turnover of the top 10 Chinese companies on the list was US$7.754 billion, and the average international business accounted for 10.9%; the average international turnover of the top 10 foreign companies on the list was US$16.229 billion, and the average international business accounted for 68.6%. .

In terms of regional market business scale, the European market surpasses the Asian market to occupy the first place. The 250 listed companies have a total turnover of 105.979 billion US dollars in the region, accounting for 25.2% of the total turnover; the Asian market ranks second, accounting for 21.5% of the total turnover ; Followed by the US market, the Middle East market, the African market, Latin America and the Caribbean market, accounting for 16.2%, 13.2%, 11.5%, 5.2% respectively. In the top 10 regional market business list, Chinese companies have a seat in the top 10 lists in other markets, except for the top 10 markets in Europe, the United States, and Canada. In the African market, the business of Chinese companies is still leading. China Communications Construction, China Power Construction, China Railway, China Railway Construction, China State Construction, Jiangxi International and other six companies are shortlisted in the top 10; in the Asian market, China Communications Construction, China Power Construction , China State Construction, China Railway Group, China Central Plains and other five companies were shortlisted in the top 10; in the Middle East market, the performance of Chinese companies is also remarkable, China Power Construction, China Construction, China Railway Construction, China Energy, Shanghai Electric, etc. 5 Two companies are on the list; in addition, China Communications Construction and China Railway Construction have entered the top 10 in the Latin American and Caribbean market. Contractors from various countries have their own strengths in each regional market. Among them, Chinese companies continue to maintain their leading positions in the African and Asian markets, with shares reaching 61% and 49% respectively. It is worth mentioning that in the Middle East market, Chinese companies have achieved a larger market share In the United States, Europe, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean, European companies have more obvious business advantages, with market shares reaching 81.6%, 76.3%, 53.9% and 53.5%, respectively, in the Middle East, Asia, and the Caribbean. In the African market, the market shares were 25.4%, 24.4%, and 19.6% respectively; the business of American companies was mainly concentrated in Canada, with a market share of 26.8%.

In terms of professional business, the 250 listed companies have a total turnover of US$130.59 billion (31.1% of the total turnover) in the transportation construction field, followed by the housing construction, petrochemical, and power engineering fields. The total turnover of the above four fields is Accounted for 79.8%. In this year's list of the top 10 companies in each business field, except for the communications engineering field, all Chinese companies are on the list. Among them, in the field of power engineering, 5 companies including Power China, China Energy Construction, SINOMACH, Shanghai Electric, and China Central Plains were on the list; in the field of transportation construction, 3 companies including China Communications Construction, China Railway, and China Railway Construction Companies on the list; in the field of housing construction, China Construction and China Communications Construction are on the list; in the petrochemical field, China Petroleum Engineering Corporation and China Chemical Engineering are on the list; in the field of water conservancy engineering, China Power Construction and China Energy Construction Two companies are on the list; in the field of water supply and drainage and sewage treatment, China Communications Construction and China Energy Construction are on the list; in the field of industrial construction, MCC is on the list; in the field of manufacturing and processing, Sinoma International is on the list.

Compared with 2020, 34 of the 78 Chinese companies that were shortlisted for this year’s "World's 250 Largest International Contractors" have risen in their rankings. Among them, Shanghai Electric has risen the most, and its ranking has risen from 160th to 51st. Followed by the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps ranking increased from 168th to 113th, Hebei Construction Engineering increased from 241st to 186th; 32 companies ranked lower; 6 companies were the same as the 2020 ranking; 6 newcomers were added to the list.
