CDWE has selected South Korea’s Samkang M&T to manufacture and deliver jacket foundations for Taiwan’s Hailong 2b and Hailong 3 offshore wind farms. Under the exclusive capacity agreement ECA, Samkang M&T will produce and deliver a total of 52 jacket foundations for the two wind farms. Delivery of the jacket is expected to be completed in December 2024. The contract value is approximately 426 million euros.

Hailong Offshore Wind Power, a consortium formed by Canadian independent power producer Northland Power Inc., Yushan Energy Pte Ltd and Mitsui & Co., Ltd., is developing the Hailong project in three phases. The construction is expected to start in 2023 and start production in 2025. The three separate grid distributions include the 300 MW Hailong 2a, the 232 MW Hailong 2b, and the 512 MW Hailong 3. The jacket foundation will support the Siemens Gamesa SG14-222DD wind turbine.

CDWE is Taiwan’s first offshore wind power EPCI contractor, and the balance of power (BoP) contractor for Hailong No. 2 and No. 3 offshore wind power projects. Pin Pile Hailong 2b and Hailong 3 will be produced by EEW Korea Heavy Pipe Construction, and CSBC will provide Pin Pile Hailong 2a. CDWE stated that the Hailong Wind Farm will be built about 50 kilometers off the coast of Taiwan, with a water depth of up to 55 meters, and the foundation will be tailored to the characteristics of Taiwan's seabed and Hailong wind farm conditions.
