On January 24, 2022, the commencement ceremony of the railway project from Shantou Station of the Guangmei-Shantou Railway to Shantou-Guangao Port Area, which was designed by the Fourth Railway Institute and constructed by the China Railway 14th Bureau Group, was held in Shantou City.

According to reports, the Guangmei-Shantou Railway from Shantou Station to Shantou Guangao Port is located in Shantou City, Guangdong Province, with a total length of 17.116 kilometers. From Shantou Station to the south, go through the Shantou Inner Bay in a tunnel way, and then exit the tunnel at the southeast end of Qingyunyan in Haojiang District, cross Leiguang Avenue and Shugang Avenue in the form of a bridge, and then enter Guangao Port Area along the north bank of Haojiang River. Set up Guangao Station. At the same time, the conditions for the establishment of the Shan-Pu Intercity Haojiang Station and the access conditions for the Haimen Port Shugang Railway are reserved at the exit of the Qingyunyan Tunnel. The planned construction period is 4.5 years, and the investment is estimated to be 3.352 billion yuan. The China Railway 14th Bureau Group is responsible for the construction tasks of the pre-bid section of the project, including the new Guangao Station, the reserved Haojiang Station, the entire line of tunnels, bridges and other construction content.

The Shantou Bay Tunnel with a total length of 9,965 meters is the key difficulty of the project. Among them, the single-hole double-track structure shield section is 2,990 meters and the outer diameter of the segment is 12.9 meters. It is parallel to the Shantou Bay submarine shield tunnel of the Shantou Railway currently under construction. .

It is understood that the starting cover of the shield machine of the project is only 7.8 meters, and the initial construction risk of ultra-shallow burial is high. Belts, multiple boulders, and underpassing lines include gas pipelines, Zhongshan East Road viaduct, Shenhai Expressway roadbed and other complex structures and underground pipelines.

In the future, after the completion of the railway project from Shantou Station of the Guangmeishan Railway to the Guangzhou-Macao Port Area, on the basis of comprehensively improving the collection and distribution capacity of the Guangzhou-Macao Port Area, it will strengthen the connection between the north-south region and strengthen the connection with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the sea. The Western Economic Zone will be connected, and the layout of the regional intercity transportation network will be improved.

In addition to this project, CRCC has also undertaken the construction of large-diameter shield railway tunnel projects in the South China market, such as the Shantou Bay Subsea Tunnel of the Shantou Railway, the Pearl River Mouth Tunnel of the Deep River Railway, and the Zhanjiang Bay Subsea Tunnel of the Guangzhan High-speed Railway, with a market share of over 50%.

Shantou Bay Tunnel of Shantou Railway

The Shantou Bay Tunnel of the Shantou Railway is 9,781 meters long, of which 2,169 meters are constructed by the shield method, and the excavation diameter is 14.57 meters. It is currently the world's largest diameter high-speed rail submarine shield tunnel. The maximum buried depth of the tunnel is 67 meters, and the maximum water depth is 10 meters. It is the first time in China to dismantle a large-diameter shield machine in a submarine cave. At present, the "Yongping" shield machine has excavated more than 900 meters.

Zhanjiang Bay Subsea Tunnel of Guangzhan Railway

The Zhanjiang Bay Subsea Tunnel of the Guangzhan Railway is 9,640 meters long, of which 7,352 meters are constructed by the shield method, and the excavation diameter is 14.33 meters. Up to now, the "Yongxing" shield machine has completed about 900 meters of excavation.

Pearl River Mouth Tunnel of Shenjiang Railway

The Pearl River Mouth Tunnel of the Deep River Railway has a total length of 13.69 kilometers, a maximum buried depth of 106 meters, and a seawater pressure of 10.6 bar. It is currently the submarine tunnel with the largest buried depth and highest water pressure in China. The shield tunnel in charge of the China Railway 14th Bureau crosses 3,590 meters and has an excavation diameter of 13.42 meters. It is necessary to change the tool on the seabed in an ultra-high water pressure environment. For the first time, the shield machine adopts in-situ dismantling+ Receive by dragging back in the hole.
