February 10, 2021 Romania's Buzau-Focsani highway project has received official approval from the country's government. The project is expected to cost 1.47 billion euros and the route will be part of the international TEN-T network.

The highway will connect the capital Bucharest with Ploiesti and Siret in one direction and Julgiu in the other direction. The construction work will be divided into four separate parts.
