On March 29th, the second storage tank of the Nigeria PLF-LNG project, constructed by China Chemical Engineering 14th Construction Co., Ltd., completed the pouring of all 388 cast-in-place piles, marking a major breakthrough in Africa's largest liquefied natural gas storage tank project. The pile foundation depth of the project reaches 56.9 meters, and the vertical deviation is strictly controlled within 1/500, setting a new record for Chinese companies in overseas LNG tank construction.

Faced with challenges such as high temperatures and heavy rainfall, as well as soft foundations in West Africa, the project team innovatively adopted the "rotary drilling+reverse circulation" composite process, combined with the self-developed BIM pile foundation management platform, to achieve real-time monitoring of concrete pouring temperature and settlement data. By optimizing the mix ratio, the construction period of a single pile has been compressed to 48 hours, resulting in a 33% increase in efficiency compared to traditional techniques. The 200000 cubic meter storage tank is completely designed, developed, and built independently by Chinese enterprises. The "double wall prestressed concrete+nickel steel inner tank" technology scheme adopted reduces construction costs by 15% while achieving the highest international safety standards.

As a benchmark project of China Chemical's "135" strategy, the project will have an annual processing capacity of 2 million tons of liquefied natural gas after completion, accounting for 30% of Nigeria's existing LNG exports. China National Chemical Corporation (ChemChina) stated that the complete set of low-temperature storage tank technology exported through the "technology+EPC" model has obtained new orders in regions such as the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and the proportion of overseas revenue is expected to increase to 40% in the next five years, contributing Chinese solutions to global energy infrastructure construction.
