On April 25, 2022, the Management Committee of Yunnan Yuxi High-tech Zone and Hebei Kuntian New Energy Co., Ltd. signed a contract for the production of 200,000 tons of lithium battery anode materials, and held the official commencement ceremony of the project.

The project covers an area of about 1,460 mu, with a total investment of 5.6 billion yuan. The construction scale is an annual output of 200,000 tons of lithium battery anode materials. The construction is divided into two phases. Among them, the 50,000-ton high-end silicon carbon anode material production project as the second-phase project will be built into the country's largest production base of high-end anode materials for power batteries after landing in Yuxi. Compared with the existing anode materials, silicon carbon anode materials have high capacity and are mainly used in high-end new energy vehicles with broad market prospects. The project has a total investment of 5.6 billion yuan and covers an area of 1,500 mu. After the project is completed, the production capacity of anode materials can be realized at 200,000 tons per year. The project will be constructed in two phases. The second phase will build a 50,000-ton silicon carbon anode production project, which is expected to start by the end of 2023.

New energy battery industries such as separators, lithium battery positive electrodes, and negative electrode materials, as well as industry leaders, will attract investment precisely, and strive to build a domestic first-class new energy battery industry base. Hebei Kuntian New Energy Co., Ltd. is the first enterprise in China to carry out graphitization processing of lithium battery anode materials, and it is also the first batch of domestic enterprises to integrate the whole process to produce lithium battery anode materials. After the project was signed and started, Yuxi New Energy Battery Industry has signed 7 companies and started 5 projects, taking another step towards a 100 billion-level industry.
