On the evening of July 26, 2022 local time, the opening ceremony of the Croatian Peljesac Bridge was held in Komarna. Croatian President Milanovic, Prime Minister Plenkovic, Speaker Jandrokovic and other dignitaries, Chinese Ambassador to Croatia Qi Qianjin and people from all walks of life in Croatia were invited to attend.

"I imagine that, many years later, when I tell my children and grandchildren the story of my participation in the construction of the Peljesac Bridge, I must be full of pride and pride," said Thelma Kunde, a Croatian employee of the bridge construction project. Sen couldn't hide his excitement.

The Peljesac Bridge is a 2,440-meter-long, 22.5-meter-wide road cable-stayed bridge spanning the Little Stone Bay on the Adriatic Sea in southern Croatia, connecting the country's mainland with the Peljesac Peninsula. The steel pipe piles as long as 130.6 meters need to be driven in one time. Of the 14 piers of the bridge body, 10 are in the water. According to the summary of the builders, the construction of the bridge "has a variety of points, a wide area, multiple blooms, pure water operations and high-altitude operations are superimposed, there are many hidden safety risks, and the construction organization is difficult and safety risks are greater."

In addition, the bridge is located in a nature reserve, and the construction process requires extremely high seawater quality and marine life protection. The bridge construction must comply with the EU bridge construction specifications, and the bridge steel structure production requirements must meet the highest European EXC4 standard.Editor/Ma Xue
