Countries around the world are seeking to accelerate the energy transition to achieve carbon neutrality. Power China and Amir Energy held a signing ceremony for Egypt's 500-MW Gulf of Suez wind Power project in Dubai on Oct 28, 2022.

Aamir Energy Chairman Alnui spoke highly of the professionalism of Power China's team, praised the harmonious cooperation between the two sides on previous projects, and expressed his keen expectation to carry out more extensive cooperation with Power China.

The project is the largest single capacity wind power project in Egypt, located 300 kilometers southeast of Cairo, the capital of Egypt. The project content includes the foundation construction of 500 MW wind farm area, fan hoisting, wind measuring tower, booster station construction, etc.

This project is one of the largest new energy projects signed by Egypt in recent years. It was signed and landed on the occasion of the COP27 global climate Summit in Egypt. It is an important milestone and groundbreaking significance for the global "carbon neutral" cause to add green emission reduction "flower". Upon completion, the project is expected to generate about 2.7 billion KWH of clean energy per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 1 million tons. During the construction period, it will provide more than 1,000 direct jobs, as well as a large number of jobs related to materials, transportation and other ancillary services. It will contribute significantly to the transformation of the local energy structure and contribute to the realization of the Egyptian government's Comprehensive Energy Strategy 2035 and National Climate Strategy 2050. Key words: infrastructure, infrastructure construction, planning and investment

Since PowerChina entered the Egyptian market in 2011, it has been actively exploring the Egyptian engineering contract market and has achieved a number of high-quality projects. Among them, the Benhe 750 MW gas turbine project and the Giza 1,500 MW gas turbine project, which were awarded in a consortium with GE of the United States, have both been completed and put into production, playing an important role in promoting local economic development and ensuring people's livelihood.
