Recently, a 50 megawatt trough solar thermal power station has been operating smoothly for over ten years in the cold wind of the Qinghai Plateau in Delingha. In 2025, it delivered a record of generating 146 million kilowatt hours of electricity, ranking first in the national solar thermal industry in terms of utilization hours for two consecutive years. This is a microcosm of CGN Solar Delingha Co., Ltd. rooting in the plateau. Nowadays, a 1 million kilowatt integrated solar thermal storage project is rushing to connect to the grid, and after completion, it will become one of the largest single molten salt tower solar thermal power generation projects in the world.

50 MW slot power station sets a benchmark
The CGN Delingha 50 MW trough solar thermal demonstration project is China's first commercially operated trough solar thermal power plant, with a power generation capacity of 146 million kilowatt hours by 2025, ranking first in the national solar thermal industry in terms of utilization hours for two consecutive years. This project has overcome multiple high-altitude technical challenges, with a 100% localization rate of core equipment, and has won multiple national and provincial level scientific and technological progress awards, setting a benchmark for stable and efficient operation in the industry.

Five major R&D centers support innovation
Lu Naibing, the research director of CGN Solar Delingha Co., Ltd., stated that the five major research and development centers are the core support for the innovative development of enterprises. Based on the reality of the plateau, they have overcome key technologies such as solar thermal power generation and resource utilization, and helped the local clean energy industry transform from scale development to high-quality development. In response to special environments such as high altitude, high cold, strong wind and sand, enterprises continuously optimize their technical solutions and make continuous breakthroughs from heat collection equipment to operation and maintenance systems. Hundred kilowatts of solar thermal storage sprint to grid connection
The 1 million kilowatt integrated solar thermal storage project of CGN Delingha, as a key project of the national "Top 100 Projects", integrates photovoltaics, solar thermal, and energy storage. After completion, the annual power generation can reach 1.8 billion kilowatt hours, and the annual carbon dioxide reduction is about 1.3 million tons. Facing the 15th Five Year Plan, enterprises will accelerate the large-scale application of independent technologies such as 8.6-meter large opening trough collectors, promote the formation of a closed loop of the "salt lake molten salt solar thermal" industry chain, and help Delingha build the "Capital of China's Solar Thermal Industry".Editor/Gao Xue
