On December 19, 2022, the preliminary works of Fujian Yong'an Pumped Storage Power Station Project started. Fujian Mintou Yong'an Pumped Storage Power Co., Ltd., a joint venture of Fujian Investment Group and Yong'an Guotou, was responsible for the development and construction of the project. On the same day, the signing ceremony of the joint venture and the unveiling ceremony of the company were held, and the mobilization meeting for the commencement of the preliminary project of Fujian Yong'an Pumped Storage Power Station was held in Shangban Village, Xiaotao Town.

Fujian Yong'an Pumped Storage Power Station Project is located in Xiaotao Town, Yong'an City, with a total investment of 7.5 billion yuan, a total installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts, four 300,000 kilowatt reversible pump turbine units installed, and a design annual power generation of 1.26 billion kilowatt hours.
