2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. In the past decade, China and countries along the Belt and Road have achieved mutual benefit and win-win results. Sri Lanka's Prime Minister said in an interview with reporters that with the investment and support of Chinese enterprises, Colombo Port City has turned from a sea into an island and become an important part of Colombo City, which will make positive contributions to Sri Lanka's expansion of exports and international trade and the construction of a financial investment hub.

The Colombo Port City project is one of the landmark projects of the China-Sri Lanka Belt and Road construction. The project officially started in 2014, and now the port city is taking shape, and some projects have been completed and put into operation.

According to reports, 530 workers have returned to work at the project site, and returning employees are required to undergo isolation and two nucleic acid tests. Not far from the project department is the "shelter buffer zone" built by blue containers. Carson, a local worker, said: The strict epidemic prevention measures taken by the port city make our production very safe.
Accelerating the resumption of work and production in the port city is of great significance to promoting Sri Lanka's economic recovery.
