On June 21, 2023, CNNC Party Secretary and Chairman Yu Jianfeng met with a delegation led by China Huaneng Party Secretary and Chairman Wen Shugang at the group headquarters. The two sides held talks and witnessed the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement to leverage their respective strengths and further engage in practical cooperation. Deng Jianling, Director, General Manager, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Group of China Huaneng, attended the meeting. CNNC Director and Deputy Secretary of the Party Group Wang Jiezhi, and China Huaneng Party Group member and Deputy General Manager Zhang Tao signed the contract on behalf of him.

Yu Jianfeng warmly welcomed the visit of Wen Shugang and his delegation, and introduced the historical evolution of the nuclear industry, the development of the entire industry chain, and the future development direction. Yu Jianfeng stated that China Huaneng is an important partner of CNNC and has always actively fulfilled the responsibilities of central enterprises, making positive contributions to the development of a strong national economy and promoting the sound and rapid development of the national economy. Over the years, both sides have continuously deepened cooperation and achieved significant results in energy and electricity safety and supply assurance, helping to achieve the "dual carbon" goal, fully playing the role of the main force, and actively developing clean energy. We hope that both sides can take the opportunity of strategic cooperation signing to work together, explore and innovate, promote complementary advantages, achieve win-win development, and jointly open a new chapter of cooperation.

Wen Shugang expressed gratitude to CNNC for its strong support and assistance to China Huaneng, congratulated CNNC on its excellent performance over the years, and introduced the layout and business development of Huaneng's industry. Wen Shugang said that Huaneng always regards nuclear power as one of the "three major supports" for green low-carbon transformation, and strives to build "three major nuclear power bases" of 10 million Kilopower. We hope that on the basis of existing good cooperation, both sides can further enhance resource sharing, strengthen complementary advantages, enhance cooperation levels, expand cooperation areas, and jointly make positive contributions to the high-quality development of the energy industry.
