The first China Jiwu multimodal international train operating in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region

On July 4, 2023, the first China Kyrgyzstan Ukraine multimodal international train from Langfang, Hebei, arrived in Uzbekistan, opening up a new freight channel between China and Central Asian countries.

It is reported that the new multimodal transportation channel between Langfang and Jiwu adopts an international intermodal transportation model of railways, cross-border highways, and overseas railways. This is a new logistics channel connecting Beijing Tianjin Hebei and Central Asian countries after the first Langfang Trans-Eurasia Logistics to Uzbekistan via Khorgos Port in April 2023.

At the inaugural ceremony, the chairman of Uzbekistan Railway Container Company, Kamilianov Abdulmalik Abdulwahidovic, said that through the new corridor of Langfang China Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan international multimodal transport, goods can be transported from China to Uzbekistan soon and extended to European countries. This transport corridor will strongly promote the development of economic and trade relations between China and Uzbekistan.

This train is organized by Taitong International Transportation Co., Ltd., with three 40 foot containers and 38 gondola cars. It starts from the Langfang North Railway Freight Yard of Beijing Railway Bureau of China Railway, arrives in Kashgar, Xinjiang by railway transportation, changes into transnational highway transportation, leaves the country via Erkeshtam, passes through Osh Station in Kyrgyzstan, and changes into overseas railway transportation to Tashkent. The whole journey is about 6000 kilometers, the total weight of goods is more than 1000 tons, and the estimated operation time is about 12 days.

The first international multimodal transport train between China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area departs

At 5:00 on July 4, 2023, accompanied by a whistle, an international train full of office furniture, air conditioners, Small appliance and other famous and unique products in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area slowly left China Railway Guangzhou Group's Guangzhou International Port. It is reported that this is the first international multimodal train between China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. So far, there have been 18 international routes in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.

The reporter learned from Guangzhou Railway Group that the China Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan International Multimodal Transport Corridor is a highway railway multimodal logistics trunk line formed through China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The train is organized and operated by Xinjiang China Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan Multimodal Transport Co., Ltd., which cooperates with Guangwu Holding Group and Port of Shenzhen Group. The international multimodal transport mode of container railway highway is adopted for the whole journey. After arriving at Kashgar railway station by railway, the train leaves the country from Erkeshtam and finally arrives in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Compared with traditional lines, it can save about 5 days, and has strong timeliness and economy, It provides a more convenient and fast channel for trade exchanges between Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area and Central Asia.

Central Asia is the place where the the Belt and Road initiative was initiated. Under the framework of the joint construction of the the Belt and Road initiative and the docking of the development strategies of Central Asian countries, China and Central Asian countries make full use of the complementarity of economic and trade and industrial structure to constantly expand the development space for practical cooperation.

It is reported that previously, most of the trade transportation between China and Central Asian countries passed through the Trans-Eurasia Logistics and Khorgos Port. With the rapid increase in trade volume and the intensification of port congestion, there is an urgent need to open up a new transportation channel to accelerate the flow of goods. On the one hand, the opening of the Greater Bay Area China Kyrgyzstan Ukraine multimodal international train has strengthened the economic and trade exchanges between the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area; on the other hand, it has opened up the fourth strategic channel of the Trans-Eurasia Logistics international transport, formed a spatial layout of multi-directional extension and land sea connectivity, helped the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area and Xinjiang deeply participate in the construction of the the Belt and Road international cooperation economic corridor, and improved the level of opening up to the outside world.

The next step is to normalize the operation of the China Kyrgyzstan Ukraine high-speed rail intermodal international train, achieve efficient connectivity of resource elements and industrial linkage between Guangdong and Xinjiang, help the two regions efficiently integrate into the new pattern of domestic and international dual circulation development, and promote high-quality economic development and high-level opening up of the two regions to a new level.
