The number of China-Europe (Central Asia) trains passing through the Khorgos railway port in Xinjiang will exceed 4,000 in 2023, 22 days earlier than in 2022, according to the Urumqi Bureau Group of China Railway.

Since 2023, the railway department of Xinjiang has focused on the construction of the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt, increased the investment in transport capacity, rationally deployed transport capacity, and achieved sustained growth in the number and volume of China-Europe (Central Asia) freight trains. As an important hub connecting Central and Western Asia and Europe, the Khorgos Railway port entered and exited 3,864 trains to Central Europe (Central Asia) in the first half of this year, an increase of 16.8%. Shipments of 5.283 million tons, an increase of 30.4%.

The Khorgos Railway port optimizes the transportation organization of the China-Europe (Central Asia) train, fully taps the capacity of the yard and station line, and reasonably organizes the receiving and sending trains and the formation and reloading operations according to the daily arrival and departure of the train; Smooth the customs clearance organization process of trains, promote the verification of ticket translation, transfer plan communication and other links, and realize the orderly connection of train receipt and departure, vehicle disassembly, cargo handling and other operations, and the number of trains has remained above 600 per month for four consecutive months; Deepen the liaison with customs and enterprises, vigorously promote the construction of digital ports, implement integrated customs clearance and paperless declaration, and carry out bill processing and customs clearance simultaneously.

At present, there are 77 railway lines passing through the Khorgos Railway port, radiating 45 cities and regions in 18 countries overseas, and more than 200 types of goods, playing an important role in ensuring the stability and smooth flow of the international industrial chain and supply chain.
