On July 24, 2023, a reporter from Jiandao Network learned from the Municipal Development and Reform Commission that since late June, key projects at the municipal level in Chongqing have ushered in a wave of construction. More than 20 projects in 17 industries such as new energy vehicles, new materials, highways, water conservancy, and electricity have successfully started construction, with a planned total investment of over 40 billion yuan, providing strong support for maintaining stable and rapid growth in project investment in the second half of the year.

In this batch of projects, Fengjie Caiziba Pumped-storage hydroelectricity is planned to have a total investment of 8.4 billion yuan and a total installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts, belonging to the "first-class large (1)" project, with an annual power generation of 1.14 billion kilowatt hours and an annual carbon emission reduction of about 755000 tons. After the project is completed and put into use, it will effectively improve the peak shaving, valley filling, energy storage, and emergency backup capacity of our city's power grid, with an annual output value of nearly 700 million yuan. The Wansheng Tianxing Reservoir project is planned to have a total investment of 850 million yuan, a total storage capacity of 11.18 million cubic meters, and an annual water supply of 9.67 million cubic meters. It is a medium-sized reservoir mainly for urban living and industrial water supply.

The Wansheng Tianxing Reservoir project is also a livelihood project and one of the key projects in Chongqing's water safety assurance "14th Five Year Plan". The project plans to have a total investment of 850 million yuan and an annual water supply of 9.67 million cubic meters. It is a medium-sized reservoir mainly used for urban living and industrial water supply. After completion, the water supply guarantee level in Wansheng urban area will be effectively improved.

Currently, Chongqing is focusing on key projects to continuously promote the optimization and upgrading of key industries, and continuously enhance the magnitude and level of the real economy. The Yubei Plant Replacement and Green Intelligent Upgrading Construction Project of Changan Automobile started is a key project leading the iterative upgrading of Yubei's automobile industry, mainly building three series of Battery electric vehicle production lines, namely CD701, CD570 and C798. After the project reaches its full capacity, it produces 280000 new energy vehicles annually and has an annual output value of over 50 billion yuan. The digital industry base project of China Telecom Science City will undertake the construction of the national integrated Big data center, the computing hub of the collaborative innovation system, and the implementation of the strategy of "calculating data from the east to the west", with a total planned investment of 5 billion yuan. The project integrates digital industry research, incubation, and operation, with a focus on Chengdu Chongqing, radiating to the western region, and serving the whole country. It will enhance Chongqing's position and competitiveness in the national information industry layout.

Next, Chongqing will seize the golden period of project construction in the third quarter, promote the early start, construction, and effectiveness of key projects, and fully leverage the key role of investment in stabilizing growth.
