The G6025 Dongkou to Tianzhu Hunan-Guizhou Expressway, referred to as the Dongtian Expressway, is an important part of Hunan Province's highway network planning and has now entered the public bidding stage for preliminary survey and design, marking the official start of the project's construction.

This expressway starts from Shijiang Town, Dongkou County, Shaoyang City, passes through Gaosha Town, Huayuan Town, Gaoyi Township, Jinzhu Town, Baozi Town, Qinglang Township and other places, and finally connects with the Dongtian Expressway in the Guizhou section at Puwen Township, Puwen Township. The 131.8-kilometer-long Dongtian Expressway will be constructed in accordance with the standards of a two-way six-lane expressway, with a design speed of up to 120 kilometers per hour and a roadbed width of 34 meters, ensuring the safety and comfort of driving.

The project involves 58 bridges with a total length of 28.9 kilometers, including 6 extra-large bridges with a total length of 7.8 kilometers, 46 large bridges with a total length of 2.07 kilometers, and 6 medium and small bridges. In addition, 21 tunnels with a total length of approximately 35.23 kilometers have been planned and constructed to ensure smooth flow of roads in complex terrain. The estimated investment for the entire project is as high as 29.6 billion yuan, demonstrating Hunan Province's firm determination in the construction of transportation infrastructure.

It is worth mentioning that the Guizhou section of the G6025 Dongtian Expressway (Tianzhu to Huitong section) was included in the 32 expressways in the Guizhou Province Expressway Encryption Plan as early as October 2016. At present, this section has completed the pre-review of the project feasibility study and plans to submit it to the Ministry of Transport for review, striving to start construction before the end of 2024. This will further promote in-depth cooperation between Hunan and Guizhou provinces in the field of transportation and promote the coordinated development of the regional economy.

From the perspective of line positioning, the G6025 Dongtian Expressway is not only an important part of the expansion project of the Guizhou and Hunan sections of the G60 Shanghai-Kunming Expressway, but also an important channel connecting southwestern Hunan and southeastern Guizhou. The areas along the route are rich in forestry ecology, cultural tourism and mineral resources, but backward transportation conditions have always restricted the effective development and utilization of these resources. The new expressway will greatly improve this situation, help accelerate the regional development of Wulingshan area, narrow the regional development gap, promote multi-ethnic exchanges and integration, and promote economic prosperity and harmonious social development in ethnic areas.

In addition, the G6025 Dongtian Expressway will also form a tourist express line, connecting many well-known tourist attractions along the way, such as Gaoyi Ancient Village with Ming and Qing Architecture, Hongjiang Ancient Mall, Suining Gaodeng’s largest ancient stone building, and Dongkou Luoxi National AAA Forest Park , Yu Family Courtyard, Li Xiqiao Town, Suining, etc. This will not only greatly promote the development of tourism in southwestern Hunan, but also provide tourists with a more convenient and comfortable travel experience.

The completion of the G6025 Dongtian Expressway will further strengthen the connection between southwestern Hunan and the Changsha-Zhutan area, improve the transportation capacity of southwestern Hunan and southeastern Guizhou, and become a rapid connection between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Yangtze River Delta region, the Changsha-Zhutan City Group and other economic circles. link.
