Recently, the 100th nuclear power/facility diesel generator set produced by China Shipbuilding CSSC Heavy Industry successfully completed the test test, marking CSSC has achieved another major milestone on the journey of serving the development of national nuclear power.

As one of the key equipment of nuclear power plant, nuclear emergency diesel generator set has been monopolized by foreign enterprises for a long time before 2006. As a major professional manufacturer of high-power medium and high-speed diesel engines and complete sets of diesel generators in China, CSSC has firmly seized the favorable opportunity of the rapid development of China's nuclear power in the market battle, and through the development process of introduction, digestion, absorption and innovation, it has broken through a number of core technologies and successfully obtained the national civil nuclear safety equipment manufacturing and design license. Become the first Chinese enterprise with the production of nuclear emergency diesel generator sets.

In the past 17 years, every achievement has been hard-won, highlighting the spirit of unity, adherence, responsibility, endeavour and cooperation of CSSC people on the road of breaking foreign monopoly and realizing independent and controllable core technology of nuclear emergency diesel generator set.

Since entering the nuclear power market with the C2 project in 2006, CSSC has made great progress in developing the nuclear power market.

In 2010, it completed the first domestic 6300KW nuclear emergency diesel generator set routine test and type approval test, filling a number of gaps in the domestic nuclear emergency diesel generator set localization research and production.

In 2013, it completed the development of the world's first AP1000 third-generation nuclear power stack backup diesel generator set, filling the gap in the localization of third-generation nuclear diesel generator sets.

In 2017, the world's first class 1E 8000KW emergency diesel generator set of "Hualong One" project was completed.

In 2019, the first high-power full-load earthquake resistance test of emergency diesel generator set in China was completed.

In 2020, the 1E class 1600KW nuclear emergency diesel generator set successfully passed the expert evaluation.

In 2023, the "Hualong One" batch construction was successfully realized - the first diesel generator set of Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Unit 1 was started.

17 years of trials and tribulations. CSSC has always adhered to the nuclear safety concept of "safety first, quality first", carefully organized and scientifically managed, and made every effort to be the final "keeper" of national nuclear power safety. CSSC has successfully completed the construction of key domestic and foreign nuclear power projects such as Chashma Nuclear Power Plant II in Pakistan, Tianwan, Fuqing and Zhangzhou, making positive contributions to the development of national nuclear power technology.

In 2023, CSSC participated in the construction of a major scientific and technological achievement - China's independent third-generation nuclear power technology "Hualong One" first reactor project, won the CNNC Science and Technology Award, the company was also elected as a member of China Nuclear Power "Hualong One" supply chain alliance. At present, CSSC nuclear power industry has become the pillar industry of enterprise development, creating economic value of billions of yuan, CSSC nuclear power products occupy more than 75% of the domestic nuclear power market share, CSSC with strength for the national nuclear power safety escort.

In order to meet the development needs of the nuclear power market, CSSC established Xi 'an CSSC Heavy Industry Nuclear Emergency Equipment Co., Ltd. relying on the Nautical Science and Technology Park of Xi 'an Gaoxin District, specializing in the research of complete sets of nuclear emergency diesel generator set technology, the engineering design and complete supply of diesel generator set in the nuclear power field, and providing customers with diesel power plant engineering and technical solutions.

After more than ten years of experience in the field of nuclear power, has formed a project execution team with technology, management, quality, procurement, commissioning and other professional, is the first domestic unit to complete the localization of 1E emergency diesel generator set and nuclear grade identification work. In 2020, it was recognized as an engineering technology research center by Xi 'an Science and Technology Bureau.

The successful production of 100 units is a milestone, and it is a new journey for CSSC people.
