Recently, during President Muiz of the Maldives' visit to China, China and the Maldives signed a number of important bilateral cooperation documents on Belt and Road cooperation. The move marks a new stage in China-Malaysia cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and has injected new impetus into the development of bilateral relations.

Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Wang Lixin said in an exclusive interview that in recent years, China-Maldives cooperation on the Belt and Road Initiative has yielded fruitful results, bringing tangible benefits to the Maldivian people and a transformative impact on the country's national development. He stressed that the two countries will also carry out cooperation in many areas such as infrastructure, blue economy, green economy and people-to-people exchanges in the future.

Infrastructure is one of the key areas of the Belt and Road cooperation between China and Malaysia. China will actively support the Maldives in the construction of transportation, energy, communications and other infrastructure to enhance its connectivity. The implementation of these projects will greatly improve the infrastructure conditions of the Maldives and provide strong support for the country's economic development.

Apart from infrastructure, China and Malaysia will also deepen cooperation in blue economy and green economy. The Maldives is endowed with unique Marine resources, and China will work with the Maldives to carry out cooperation in Marine scientific research, fishery and tourism to promote the development of the blue economy of the two countries. At the same time, the two countries will also strengthen cooperation in renewable energy and environmental protection technologies to jointly address the challenge of climate change and promote the development of green economy.

People-to-people exchanges are an important part of the Belt and Road cooperation between China and Malaysia. China will strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Maldives in education, culture, tourism and other fields to enhance understanding and friendship between the two peoples. By strengthening people-to-people and cultural exchanges, China and Malaysia will further consolidate their traditional friendship and lay a solid foundation for the long-term development of bilateral relations.

The cooperation between China and Malaysia under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative enjoys broad prospects and huge potential. We believe that with the joint efforts of both sides, China-Malaysia friendship and cooperation will continue to rise to a new level, bring more benefits to the two peoples and jointly create a more prosperous and beautiful future.
