With the deepening cooperation between China and Vietnam in the political, economic and cultural fields, Liu Ying, academic member and director of the Cooperative research Department of Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of China, recently delivered his views on China-Vietnam relations to the press when he was invited to attend the reception of the Vietnamese Embassy. He pointed out that China-Vietnam relations will usher in a new "golden era" under the background of the Belt and Road Initiative and Vietnam's strategic alignment.

Liu Ying said that the emergence of the concept of community of common destiny in the positioning of bilateral relations highlights the special importance of China-Vietnam relations. This concept not only marks the deep integration of the two countries in the political, economic and cultural fields, but also indicates that the two sides will further strengthen strategic cooperation in the future.

He further pointed out that head-of-state diplomacy plays a leading role in China-Vietnam relations, and frequent high-level exchanges between the two countries have injected strong impetus into the development of bilateral ties. With the deepening integration of the Belt and Road Initiative and Vietnam's national development strategy, the cooperation space between China and Vietnam in infrastructure construction, trade and investment, and financial cooperation will be further expanded.

Liu Ying also stressed that the deepening of China-Vietnam relations is not only of great significance to the two countries, but also of symbolic significance to neighboring diplomacy. As an important member of ASEAN, Vietnam plays a bridging role in the cooperation between China and ASEAN. By strengthening strategic cooperation with Vietnam, China will further promote mutually beneficial and win-win relations with ASEAN countries and jointly safeguard regional peace, stability, prosperity and development.
