On February 2, 2024, the Osaka Waterfront Dreamland Expo Park was bustling with activity. On this day, the opening ceremony of the China Pavilion at the 2025 Osaka World Expo in Japan was officially held, and Chinese and Japanese guests witnessed this historic moment together. With the completion of the groundbreaking ceremony, the construction of the China Pavilion has officially begun.

The China Pavilion, designed by China Jianke, is inspired by traditional Chinese long scrolls of books and has a unique and eye-catching appearance. Cui Kai, an academician of the CAE Member, the chief scientist of China Construction Science and the chief architect of the Chinese Academy affiliated to the group, said in an interview that the design concept of the China Pavilion is to jointly build a community of human and natural life - a future society of green development. The China Pavilion utilizes traditional Chinese written records and dissemination tools such as bamboo slips to reflect the transmission of information from history to the future. Bamboo slips not only carry rich cultural connotations, but also have a dynamic spatial composition, bringing visitors a unique visual and sensory experience.

As one of the first foreign self built pavilions to officially start construction and with the largest land area at the Osaka World Expo, the construction of the China Pavilion is of great significance. It is not only an important representative of China's participation in the World Expo, but also a window to display the achievements of Chinese culture and Chinese path to modernization. Through the China Pavilion, the world will gain a better understanding of China's history, culture, and modern development, and experience China's unique charm and innovative spirit.

With the smooth construction of the China Pavilion, it will become the most beautiful Chinese business card of the Osaka World Expo, attracting the attention of people from all over the world. Here, Chinese culture will exchange and learn from cultures around the world, jointly writing a new chapter in the destiny of humanity. Editor/Cheng Liting
