The 2024 China Singapore Economic Cooperation Forum was grandly held in Singapore on February 1st. This forum is jointly initiated by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Singapore Federation of Commerce and Industry, aiming to provide a broader platform for exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Singaporean enterprises, and further promote the economic and trade relations between the two countries to new heights.

Ren Hongbin, President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, led a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to attend the 2024 China Singapore Economic Cooperation Forum. At the same time, Liu Yanling, Minister of Trade and Industry and Minister of Culture, Community and Youth, as well as Lin Mingyan, Chairman of the Singapore Federation of Commerce and Industry, also attended the event.

Ren Hongbin stated at the forum that in recent years, China Singapore economic and trade cooperation has been continuously strengthened, demonstrating strong vitality and resilience. China has become Singapore's largest trading partner for 10 consecutive years, while Singapore has remained China's largest source of new investment for 10 consecutive years. Enterprises of the two countries have worked together to open up the the Belt and Road market and achieved fruitful results in infrastructure, financial technology, legal services, third-party market cooperation and other fields. He further announced that the second China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo will be held from November 26th to 30th, 2024, and sincerely invited relevant Singaporean institutions and enterprises to actively participate and jointly create a more exciting global economic and trade event.

Liu Yanling stated that the signing of a further upgraded protocol to the free trade agreement between New Zealand and China at the end of last year will help formulate more commercial friendly regulations, bring more trade and investment opportunities to New Zealand and China enterprises, and strengthen economic connectivity between the two countries. During the event, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Singapore Federation of Commerce renewed their memorandum of cooperation.
