On April 3, 2024, the Minister of Energy and Mining of Laos, Posay Saiyasong, and his delegation visited the site of the Nanping West photovoltaic project in Puersimao District to understand in detail the current agricultural and light complementary investment and construction model, technical solutions, policy formulation boundaries, encouragement mechanisms, and benefit sharing mechanisms with farmers. Posay Saiyasong and his delegation highly recognized the implementation results of the project investment and construction camp and expressed the intention of follow-up cooperation.

The project is located in Nanping Town, Simao District, Puer City, Yunnan Province, with a total installed capacity of 60 MW, 77.422 MW DC side, simultaneous construction of a 220 kV booster station, a new 5.5 km 220 kV line, and a total investment of 360 million yuan. The project is invested by China National Power Engineering Holdings, invested and contracted by Yunnan Institute of China Power Engineering, and New Energy Company of China Power Engineering as the owner engineer. It is the first full-capacity grid-connected "tea-light complementary" project in Puer City, Yunnan Province.

The construction site of the project is located in a shrub tea garden with high economic value. In order to protect the interests of tea farmers and achieve win-win development, the innovative arrangement of large spacing, high support and single row of components is adopted. The combination of photovoltaic projects and agricultural production, according to local conditions to create "upper space power generation, lower space tea planting" "tea light complementary" model, not only allow farmers to obtain land rent and tea harvesting double income, but also save land costs, improve land utilization, to achieve economic benefits and environmental protection "win-win". The project was completed and put into operation, which has played a demonstration role in the development of "tea-light complementarity" project in Pu 'er City and even Yunnan Province, and set a new benchmark.
