On February 26, 2024, the Jiangxi Provincial Energy Bureau issued a reply on the approval of the Ganzhou East 500 kV Transmission and Transformation Project. The construction content and scale of the project are as follows:

Substation section

A new 500 kV substation will be built in the east of Ganzhou, with a capacity of 2 × 750 MVA. In this phase, there will be 2 500 kV outgoing lines and 4 220 kV outgoing lines.

Ganzhou 500kV Substation Protection Renovation Project and Hongdu 500kV Substation Protection Renovation Project; Construct corresponding secondary system engineering such as communication, protection, and remote control.

Line section

The 500 kV line from Ganzhou to Hongdu is disconnected and connected to the 500 kV substation line project in Ganzhou East. The length of the new line path is 90 kilometers, and the cross-section of the new line conductor is 4 x 630 square millimeters on the Ganzhou side and 4 x 400 square millimeters on the Hongdu side.

The approval of the Ganzhou East 500 kV Transmission and Transformation Project is of great significance for meeting local electricity demand, improving power grid structure, and promoting the development of new energy.
