On February 27th, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao and Minister of Economic Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Maryi jointly chaired the 8th meeting of the China UAE Economic and Trade Joint Committee in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Wang Wentao pointed out that 2024 will usher in the important milestone of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Arab countries. China highly appreciates the efforts made by Arab countries in preparing for the 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization, and warmly welcomes the Arab countries to actively align with China's eight actions to support high-quality joint construction of the "the Belt and Road". China is willing to work together with Arab countries to enhance trade levels, tap investment potential, stimulate innovative vitality, build a comprehensive and three-dimensional new situation of China Arab economic and trade cooperation, inject new impetus into the development of both sides, and open a new chapter.

We thank the Chinese side for its strong support in hosting the 13th WTO Ministerial Conference, and firmly believe that the the Belt and Road Initiative will promote greater development of Arab Chinese economic and trade cooperation.
