On March 19, 2024, the Development and Reform Bureau of Gulin County issued a competitive negotiation announcement for the pre feasibility study and evaluation of the Chongqing Bijie high-speed railway, marking the official entry into the substantive preparation stage of this high-speed railway crossing the Sichuan Chongqing Guizhou region.
According to the announcement, the Chongqing Bi high-speed railway starts from Chongqing West Station, passes through Pingba District, Jiulongpo District, Bishan District, Jiangjin District, Chishui City and Xishui County in Guizhou Province, Hejiang County and Gulin County in Luzhou City, Sichuan Province, and ends at Qixingguan District in Bijie City, with a total length of about 310km.
It is reported that the Chongqing Bi high-speed railway project has been included in the Chongqing Municipal "14th Five Year Plan" for transportation development and the Sichuan Provincial "14th Five Year Plan" for mid-term adjustment of transportation. All parties are actively coordinating and working together to study project technical standards.
In January 2024, Du Xulin, a member of the Political Consultative Conference of Zhulu Province and Vice Chairman of the Municipal Political Consultative Conference, mentioned in his proposal on the planning and construction of the Chongqing to Bijie high-speed railway from Gulin, Sichuan to Bijie, Guizhou that Sichuan should work together with the governments of Chongqing and Guizhou to strive to include the Chongqing Bijie high-speed railway project in national planning, organize a review of the feasibility report as soon as possible, lay the foundation for the project to be connected to the grid, and plan and design according to a speed of 350 kilometers per hour to strive for greater space for high-quality economic and social development in southern Sichuan.
